We collaborated with GF Smith and Colorplan in a challenge project created by Paper Artist Collective. The subject was 20x20x20; selected 20 artists from 10 different countries and we were challenged to fit within a 20 x 20 x 20cm area to create a piece of art out of a single shade of Colorplan paper .
We decided to create a self-portrait with a technique of layering the bright red color paper by using 20 layers.
Our theme was to create a piece reflecting the similarities and differences. The same thoughts, the same feelings, the same ideas, the same fears… Different perspectives, different interests, different imaginations… So, we came up with the idea of creating one head, and two faces looking at the opposite directions.
Technique: 2D paper layering
Dimensions: 20cm x 20cm x 20cm
Hand-cut, Colorplan paper
